Presidents Day

Didn’t we used to go to school on President’s Day, to learn about the Presidents ?? No one I know is observing the holiday, except the schools and mail and banks.

DENISON: on this President’s Day, many have noted the striking coincidences between Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. Among them:

  • Both had seven letters in their last names.
  • They were elected one hundred years apart, in 1860 and 1960.
  • Both were assassinated on a Friday in the presence of their wives.
  • Both assassins were known by three names, with fifteen letters in each complete name.
  • Oswald shot Kennedy from a warehouse and fled to a theater; Booth shot Kennedy in a theater and fled to a barn, a kind of warehouse.
  • Both succeeding vice presidents were southern Democrats and former senators named Johnson with thirteen letters in their names and born one hundred years apart (1808 and 1908).

ME: plus these additional coincidences…

…Kennedy’s secretary was named Lincoln.

…They worked in the same office, but never met.

…Lincoln was born in a log cabin. Kennedy once spilt Log Cabin syrup in his father’s Lincoln.

Man I am forgetting my joke from 40 years ago. Sad.

Have a good weekend? Hopefully it wasn’t as busy as mine. I worked past 6 pm on Friday.

Would’ve been nice to have played golf on Saturday morning. Wasn’t too incredibly cold. But I was going to be gone all day. Helped clean up the house, first upstairs then downstairs. Ceil fixed me a ham & egg sandwich for brunch.

Anna and Goose came for a visit. Sharon Langley arrived after 1 pm, and we drove over to Buford for Mary Deaton’s funeral. A great testimony to a life of service to God. After the service we went over to my friends Don & Donna Lott’s house for a visit. Later Ceil and I took Sharon to Pizzeria Lucca in Roswell for a pie.

Sunday School and worship. Afternoon nap. Laundry and golf on TV. Gassed up Ceil’s car. Many are irate about the lack of defense in the NBA All Star Game. Making the game all the more a travesty.

Up early to lift weights this morning. Ceil has a girl’s dinner tonight.

Today is my old boss Steve Apollo’s birthday. Born in 1951. Would’ve been 73 today. Goodness.

Currently at 15 emails in my in box. Several I simply do not know how to resolve.

Millie was not impressed with Shivonne's freshly painted fingernails.

ARTICLE: three deadly threats the US is currently facing…

1. The US is conducting research on the deadly bird flu in Georgia. Could lead to a deadly epidemic.

2. When China attacks Taiwan there will be war with the US. In preparation, China has quietly been sending tens of thousands of military aged males across the southern US border.

3. Russia continues to threaten to fire nuclear warheads at the US.

Many many issues. I worry for our kids, and their kids.
