Saturday

This morning I crossed paths with Shivonne at Bellwood Coffee. Also MC and Millie. And Matthew, Addie Norman, and her brother in law David.
Our New Orleans office sent us a couple of king cakes, which we are eating this afternoon.

Ceil stumbled across a wacky movie. Star studded. Not her type. I might go back and finish, though it is a tad silly.

John Olerud only hit one triple in both 1997 and 2001. In each of those games Olerud also hit a single, double, and home run. He became the third player in MLB history to hit a cycle in each league.

BOB WATSON [SABR Bio] was the first player over the age of 35 to hit a home run in his first World Series at bat. Watson was 35 years, 193 days in game one of the 1981 Series, on 20-Oct-1981. He hit a 3-run HR off Jerry Reuss in the 1st inning. Joe Harris, with a HR in his 1st-WS at bat (G1 of the 1925 Series) was the previous record holder at age 34 years, 140 days old. Visiting the Giants on 04-May-1975(1), Watson scored what was believed to be the one-millionth run in major league history, tallying the milestone run just seconds ahead of the Reds’ Dave Concepcion, who had virtually simultaneously hit a home run in another game that afternoon. on has been to be done. Watson is the first player to hit for the cycle in both leagues, for Houston 24-Jun-1977 and Boston 15-Sep-1979. Two others have done it since: Michael Cuddyer for Minnesota 22-May-2009 and Colorado 17-Aug-2014(2). and John Olerud for the Mets 11-Sept-1997 and Seattle 16-June-2001 [Olerud hit exactly ONE triple in each of 1997 & 2001!]
