Watched the movie “Yesterday” about a musician who wakes up in a world who never knew The Beatles (also Coca Cola and cigarettes). The guy starts performing Beatles songs, and becomes wildly popular. Tours with Ed Sheeran, appears on TV. People think he is a great songwriter, but he feels guilty about the whole thing. Plus he doesn’t like all the popularity. A pretty good movie. The Beatles were paid ten million to use their songs.
Loved how “the experts” nixed his album title ideas: Abbey Road, The White Album, Sgt Peppers. Ed Sheeran thought Hey Jude should be changed to Hey Dude.
Worked past 630 last night. Got started on a project that I needed to finish. As usual, all it did was bring up more questions.
Stopped by the McDonalds drive thru on the way home. Took an excruciating 8 minutes – that’s 480 seconds. It was like they didn’t start my order until I made it up to the pickup window. Stay away from the McDonalds on Holcomb Bridge in east Roswell (southwest Johns Creek), just west of the Chattahoochee. A bad review.
Got home at 730. Ate some cookie dough. Later I watched a little of the Houston vs Iowa State game. Ceil was eating Thai food with her girlfriends.
Up early to go to the gym. My back had been bothering me yesterday but I had been able to lift weights.
A salesman brought in Chickfila biscuits to the office, but they were all grabbed before I could get one. Lunch to celebrate coworker Rob’s retirement. Back in the early 90’s we “played” fantasy football together, before the internet. We worked together on quality and computer conversions. The Sunday night Sid Slid we were arriving in Greensboro for a week of training. Only one room was available, so we had to stay in the same room. Our sons played baseball at the same time, but never against each other. Now that we have a new computer system, Rob is out of a job.
Had a good lunch at Que BBQ – a brisket sandwich and fries. A nice tribute for a long time employee. Rob has done a lot over the years. He says he plans on getting in shape once he retires, though he has arthritis in one of his knees. I hope he can. A lady is retiring at the end of the year, and today I heard the purchasing manager is also retiring some time this year. My old boss Rodney might retire at year end as well. That might make me just about the oldest and longest tenured employee in the office.

How to stay mentally sharp.
Would be cool to go to Antarctica. Might as well life. I entered a contest to win a trip to Antarctica but didn’t win.
George is always pretty nice to Anna.
