I haven’t seen Shadow Recruit or Sum of All Fears but might watch them this weekend. Red October is really good, better than Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger. In subsequent books not yet made into movies, Jack Ryan (a Washington outsider / non-poltician) rises in power book by book and through a series of disasters becomes President. I've read most all of the Jack Ryan series of books. My favorite Jack Ryan portrayal was Alec Baldwin in Red October.
Now on August 31 Amazon Prime Video will debut “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” starring John Krasinski from The Office. Krasinski has been said will play the role similar to Harrison Ford’s everyman portrayal. At least now his wife Emily Blunt won’t be the only action hero in the family.
