Being Thankful

1. Being thankful – pondering what God has done for me. Do not forget. Deuteronomy 4:9 Psalm 111:2-4

2. Thankful in all circumstances, anxious about nothing. I Thess 5:18 Phil 4:6 Col 3:17

3. Since we are thankful we should make known His deeds Isaiah 12:4 I Chron 16:8 Psalm 9:1

GT always plays ND close. Hopefully that will carry over to the football field this fall. Saw where a ND QB is transferring to somewhere else.

Before the national championship game did you see the feature about Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence? Up to then his last loss was his last high school playoff game, against Roswell’s Blessed Trinity. They interviewed Blessed Trinity’s coach. Blessed Trinity isn’t too far from Claire. Tom Glavine’s son played there, as well as several other baseball prospects.

Blessed Trinity is getting a lot of kids who in the past would’ve attended Marist - since BT’s facilities are all new, and since BT is located in the northern suburbs closer to where so many families are moving these days.

Wednesday: ate too many Jimmy Johns sub sandwiches for lunch, as well as Taco Bell for dinner. Gotta cut back

Left work right at 5 pm. Headed north to Coal Mountain for Hot Stove. Had nine in attendance, including young Forsyth County newspaper reporter David Roberts. He grew  up in Greenwood SC and graduated from South Carolina. Knowledgeable baseball fan. No high school baseball coaches made it to talk about their teams (until the very end) so we talked about the off-season: the Astros and Red Sox cheating scandal, Donaldson signing with the Twins, the Braves new ballpark name. Have I posted a pic of Johnny's Bleacher Creature?

Made it home by 930. Stayed up too late playing on my laptop. Watched an episode of Parenthood. Ate a PB&J.

Thursday: left work at five, ran my four miles at the gym. Right when I started Ceil called, but looking at my watch time that didn’t slow me sown too much. C called again as I was leaving to get me to swing by WalMart next door. C had been drinking coffee with MC’s mom.

When I got home from the gym, Ceil already had on her pajamas. We didn’t eat until 830 – grilled chicken, baked potato wedges, and salad. Watched Last Man Standing and Schooled, and later an episode of Parenthood. I watched some of that Memphis game as well.

Friday: two coworkers out today. One is in Europe. Boss brought apple fristers. He always puts it on my desk. BBQ for lunch.

May or may not have small group this weekend. Gotta kick up two pies to sample for a focus group.

Saw where Drew Kelly was at the Garden Hills reading thing.

When MC attended the Hawks game Tuesday night she wore her Oklahoma Sooners cap in honor of Trae Young.

DUSTY BAKER was the first player in either league to be named League Championship Series Most Valuable Player - NLCS MVP 1977 (ALCS MVP award didn’t begin until 1980). Named the Manager of the Year after his first MLB managing assignment - MOY = Mgr. of the 1993 SFG  He is believed to be a pioneer in the usage of the high five as a celebration. There are many origin stories of the high five, but the two most documented candidates are Baker and Glenn Burke of LAD on 02-Oct-1977 following Burke’s HR in the 6th inning.
