Killer Trivia Question

Heard a KILLER trivia question the other day.

QUESTION: Chipper Jones is the most recent NL MVP that was a switch-hitter. Who was the last switch-hitting American League MVP?

ANSWER: In 1971, AL MVP Vida Blue, a switch-hitter, collected twelve hits in 102 at bats, for a .118 batting average.

Blue also won 24 games for Oakland, with a league-leading 1.82 ERA, 24 complete games, and 8 shutouts. He led the league with 8.7 strikeouts per 9 innings and a 0.952 WHIP. Blue also won the Cy Young Award.
