FSU wins BCS

Walked in the door Monday evening before 6:30 and put on the pre game  Lots of talk, but a constant view of the stadium as the teams arrived and warmed up – all the way to kickoff. Auburn got off the bus and wandered out on the field in their warm-ups. They made a circle at midfield and prayed. Pretty sure I saw Louie leading the prayer.

Down 21-3 in the second quarter, FSU outscored Auburn 31-10 in the last 31:28 to win the BCS National Championship Game. It was an exciting fourth quarter, with five scores and four lead changes in the last four minutes.

The Seminoles drew close with just under eleven minutes remaining, but an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty took them out of range for a game-tying two point conversion. Perhaps it was good they kicked the PAT. Had Auburn not missed a field goal, a missed two-point conversion could’ve meant victory for Auburn.

03-00 09:53 FSU: Aguayo 35 yd field goal
03-07 03:07 Auburn: Mason 12 yd pass from Marshall

03-14 13:48 Auburn: Ray 50 yd pass from Marshall
03-21 05:01 Auburn: Marshall 4 yd run
10-21 01:28 FSU: Freeman 3 yd run

13-21 06:05 FSU: Aguayo 41 yd field goal

20-21 10:55 FSU: Abram 11 yd pass from Winston
20-24 04:42 Auburn: Parkey 22 yd field goal
27-24 04:31 FSU: Whitfield 102 yd kickoff return
27-31 01:19 Auburn: Mason 37 yd run
34-31 00:13 FSU: Benjamin 2 yd pass from Winston

Out of the 65 points scored, 24 were scored in the last 4:42.

I don’t get fans of other ACC teams claiming victory. No other ACC school was even close FSU this year.

Stopped by the library on the way home – also Kroger and Dollar Tree.
