What Happened to Willowbank

Twenty-nine years ago we honeymooned at the Willowbank Resort in Sandys Bermuda. While it was never comparable to Atlantis, those who stayed at Willowbank (Bob & Myra Marsh, Jim & Jenny Ewing, Steve & Becky Norman, etc) quickly grew to love the place.

Willowbank occupied a prime location on the northwestern tip of Bermuda. Plenty of room on the grounds to explore and avoid the crowds.

I just discovered Willowbank closed in 2011 due to the slow economy. The buildings were razed and replaced by Nine Beaches.

Nice looking place.

But like Willowbank before it, Nine Beaches did not make it, and the property was abandoned.
