Answer: Georgia.
Even the best teams have to be lucky sometimes, not that UGA is the best. So many things went the War Eagles way. Auburn was downing punts on the one yard line. UGA punts were barely trickling into the end zone. Penalties seemed to favor Auburn. Dawgs lost several fumbles. Will was going crazy. But the Dawgs kept plodding and pulled it out.
Like I said after the UAB game, UGA has trouble with mobile QBs. That won't bode well fora matchup with Alabama, should both teams advance to the conference championship game.
Hated for Coach Key that GT lost. After the game he demoted his defensive coordinator. Man I wouldn't care if Tech lost all the ACC games as long as they win all the non conference games on their schedule. Tech always seems to lose when they wear those special uniforms. I was listening to the GT pregame on the radio as I was running errands. 680's Hometeam Leak predicted a 45-14 Tech win. Jackets fell behind so there weren't many photos on social media. That's what teams do: fall behind and disappear for a few days.
Tennessee beat South Carolina in Knoxville. Vols wore special uniforms and won. All black unis vs all white. Kentucky beat Florida. Clemson in all white beat Syracuse in all orange.
Falcons in all white unis lost to Jacksonville in all black.
Braves won their 104th game of the season. Strider won his 20th game. Acuna stole another base.
Saturday we went down to babysit the girls. Shiv can count to 13. Her second birthday is at the end of October. C sent me to Taqueria on Howell Mill for beans and rice. I was waiting for the order and looked up, and George was asking me if I needed anything. We had a nice chat. Friday George was in North Augusta for his 50th high school reunion. Traffic was jammed downtown and on the Westside. Games at Grant Field, Morehouse, and Washington High.
Woke up earlier than usual Saturday morning. Drove C down to W&MC's, then over to the golf course.
1. Sliced tee shot into woods. Mulligan was much better. Good chip to fringe. Two putt for "par".
2. A cruddy hole. Triple.
3. Poked the tee shot left. Good chip. Two putt for bogey.
4. Tee shot short and left. Decent chip. Two putt for my second straight bogey.
5. Flubbed tee shot. Mulligan better, but the branches on the left knocked it down. A good long chip. Two putt for another "bogey ".
6. Poked a hybrid left into the brush. Mulligan not great. Second shot out of rough clipped a brush but made it a little bit down the fairway. Flubbed next shot. Then the shot of the day: a long 8 iron onto the green. Two putt for a "double ".
7. Meant to hit hybrid but pulled out the 3 wood. Popped up my tee shot. Didn't see where it went, so I hit a mulligan, which went further. Okay 5 iron, then a good 8 iron that rolled off the green. Two chips. Two putts. Seven.
8. Drive sailed right, got knocked down by the trees. Good 6 iron but not long enough. Two cruddy chips, then a better chip. Then I hit a long putt - "bogey ".
9. Hit two decent tee shots, one further than the other. Good chip to the back of the green. Three putt for a "double".
Small crowd in Sunday School this morning. Good discussion on last week's sermon, on being salt and light. Heather's husband doesn't preach much, but he does a great job. This week I will send you the link to the sermon.
After church we split a chicken sandwich at Moxie Burger. Very good. Got home at 3 pm.
