When I left W&MCs last night, I knew that GT was winning. Game not on the regular radio station because of Braves game. Got home to see Miami go ahead.
Earlier Lang had complimented GT, but I replied "famous last words".
When the face mask penalty against GT gave Miami a first down with less than 2 minutes to go, I watched one more play (a 7 yard gain) then went to bed.
Only needing to run out the clock, instead of having the QB take a knee Miami ran a running play, handing off to the RB with like 35 seconds remaining. Fumble, recovered by Tech.
Jackets threw a pass for about 20 yards, then as the clock ran down a receiver got past the defense. QB had scrambled right and hit him as he crossed the goal line. TD. Jackets win.
I didn't find out until this morning. That GT QB is good.
Last week: Jags in head to toe black. Falcons in white jerseys and pants. This week: Falcons in head to toe black. Texans in white jerseys and pants.
All week the experts were saying "look out for Kentucky". Like they said the past few years. Dawgs looked like the #1 team. QB Beck can really pass. UGA TE Brock Bowers had another big game. He needs to be in the mix for the Heisman, though he has an uphill battle.
As expected, Bama beat A&M. That Oklahoma beat Texas. What a game. Both teams are good.
Mizzou looked good. Gave up the late game pick six to make the game not look as close. LSU just not as good as everyone expected.
USC wouldn't have won without Caleb Williams, who might very well win a second Heisman. I just don't think the Trojans have the horses to win the national championship.
Like many teams, TCU looked like a high school team in their white jerseys over dark pants, but Iowa State looked good in their throwback uniforms - except the players wearing long white shirts under their jerseys. Tan pants did make the players look like they weren't wearing pants.
Phillies made several great plays to get out of jams. Braves hit the ball, and hit some hard - but right at people. Going in to tomorrow the Braves relievers are more rested than the Phillies. Braves didn't wear their usual Saturday night City Connect uniforms. Probably why they lost.
Dodgers didn't look good. Someone had ranked Kershaw as the top pitcher going in to the postseason, but he got rocked.
That Dr Pepper Fansville commercial is so spot on: fans overreacting after the first play of the game.
After one quarter: Wake Forest 3 Clemson 0. What's wrong with the Tigers? Should've been 6-0. Cancer awareness is a worthy cause, but Clemson needs to worry less about wearing pink for cancer month, more about playing football.
You heard it here first: next year QB Klubnick will be beat out by the incoming freshman sensation. Clemson isn't executing on offense. Wake Forest missed out on two field goal chances, maybe three - all this despite Clemson dominating the game at times. With a couple of breaks the Deacs might've won the game. Gonna be tough for the Tigers against UNC and SC.You could tell when Wake Forest is about to snap the ball. The center sticks out his arm.
Ceil had been on the go all day both Friday and Saturday (so had I). We went to Sunday School but not worship. 44 in Sunday School. We had a Zoom call with a class member who had just moved to Israel to study to become a missionary.
