How to Stop the Murder Hornets

If the murder hornets aren't wearing masks, they'll die from coronavirus. Or Congress could investigate them. That'd slow them down. If they go to states that have yet to reopen, they'll have to stay inside. Question: are hospitals relabeling deaths from murder hornets as coronavirus? White House to begin having an hour long press conference with the Murder Hornet Task Force.
Don Shula passed away today. He was 90 years old.
Did you know: once Justin Thomas wore a knit tie and carnigan sweater while playing the British Open.
Golfers with the most career earnings. I remember when Tom Kite was number one. Interesting that Jordan Spieth isn't among the top nineteen.

Whirlaway - barely heard of the steed. I'm hardly a horse racing expert.
Tonight is the Eta Aquarids meteor shower – 30+ meteors per hour. Thursday is the Milk Moon (last supermoon of the year). Next Tuesday is the close approach of the moon, Jupiter, and Saturn. On May 27 Comet Swan will be visible to the naked eye.
Friday night Ceil cooked BBQ chicken, cheesy mashed potatoes, and tossed a salad. She took the meal to our missionary friends, who'd just hard a baby. We ate the same thing.

Saturday: small group on Buddy's patio with Rob. Joe joined via Zoom. Stopped by Del Taco. Taco was a typical taco. Burrito was sad. Not many ingredients. Later I got a chicken sandwich at Zaxbys. Did laundry. Dishes. Cleaned out garage a little. That evening Ceil grilled out chicken on the grill. Also spinach, rice, and tossed salad.
When the jets flew over Roswell we were on a Zoom call with our missionary support group. I had seen the map of when the jets would be closest to our house, when they were making their loop over Roswell, and estimated that would be at 1:40 pm. When I heard the loud roar of the jets I looked at my watch – exactly 1:40. Several good pictures of the jets on social media, including from Nancy Shippen. I usually don't watch the local news, but at 6 pm I made a point to watch to see coverage of the flyover. Lot of good stuff. One of the pilots was from Sandy Springs. His parents watched from a Ga 400 overpass.

Watched some of the reunion Zoom call of the 1995 Braves on the Braves YouTube channel. Funny banter and stories. Klesko had a parrot on his shoulder. Glavine quarantined in Florida with family. Smoltz plays gold one or twice a week with Chipper and Francoeur. Mazzone lives on Lake Hartwell, and had been helping coach the pitchers at Furman University. Justice did a lot of talking, which helped make it more entertaining. Justice has two sons headed to UCLA to play football. His daughter is on a TV show. Maddux was quiet. The others told how he'd sneak behind Curtis Pride during card games and look at his cards. All the players were kidding McGriff, who was having trouble pulling up the game on his phone down in Florida.

We had about 40 for our Sunday School Zoom call. Notes below. Later I went to the post office to mail two packages. What a fiasco. Machine was broken at the closest PO. No problem, there's another PO just down the road. Got postage for the first package and dropped it in the box. Then had an address problem with package two so I ended the transaction. No receipt, which I needed for the tracking number. Great. Went to my car and corrected the address. Came back and the machine wasn't processing packages any more (because it was out of receipt paper). Great. Had to drive way over to Roswell. Had more address problems but finally got it to take. Then the bin was full so I couldn't put the package in the mail. Had to drive all the way back to PO number one to mail the package. Not fun.

Sunday afternoon C worked out in the yard. I helped a tiny bit. It's looking better than it has in years. I also did laundry and organized the garage, and cleaned upstairs. Later watched more of the 95 Braves Zoom call. Then C watched some Hallmark Channel.

Sunday School notes: Is God sovereign? A good book on the subject: Chronavirus and Christ by John Piper

Genesis 30 Joseph dreams gets sold to passersby becomes a child of privilege. Father Jacob dies. Message asks for forgiveness. God meant bad things for good. Verse 20. God was in control when brothers did this bad thing. Similar to when Christ was judged and crucified by men. God used it for good.

Job 42:2 Daniel 42 Psalm 135:6 Eph 1:11 Isiah 46:9-10 Jeremiah 1:12 Luke 8 wind
Daniel 5 breath held by God Exodus 8 Matthew 10:29-31 sparrow falls but by God's plan. You are more valuable than sparrows Mark 7 Psalm 33 Exodus 16 quail Psalm 147 Romans 8:32 Over all things Romans 8:28 all things work together for good.

God's sovereignty cannot be thwarted.
If God has work for me to do, I shall not die.
