Life in the Fast Food Lane

My 2018 fast food rankings. Almost all good fast food is bad for you, but some are quick and cheap. These days for the most part these guys have completely forgotten that we put up their bad food because of those reasons. Chickfila is just about the lone bastion of fast, hot food. The highest ranked are more expensive, though even the lowest ranked aren’t exactly cheap.

Moes: more and better deals than Willys or Chipotle. Better tasting salsa. Chips often greasy.

Willys: a step behind Moes.

Chickfila: best in class service. Fast, hot, great tasting. Healthy options. Cheapest (and best) milkshakes.

Fuddruckers: the best burger. The best buns, freshly baked.

Cheeseburger Bobby’s: just a step behind Fuddruckers. Almost a carbon copy.

Five Guys: smaller burgers than Fudds and Bobby’s. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, but I never get a bag bursting with fries like everyone keeps talking about.

Chipotle: not a fan of the seasoning. Plus you gotta pay extra for chips and salsa.

Taco Bell: fast, good, and cheap. The best value menu.

Pizza Hut: greasy, but the best tasting pizza franchise.

Wendy’s: fast and fresher than other burger places. Better value menu too. Cheap Frosts. Can add extras to any sandwich, making for the best dollar burger with lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions.

Hardees: good because it’s so unhealthy. Big burgers and big biscuits.

Bojangles: Great biscuits.

Domino’s Pizza. Greasy but good.

Arbys: expensive fast food but good, big sandwiches. Great curly fries. Slow service.

PaPa John’s Pizza: good but not great.

Ci Ci’s Pizza: decent, cheap pizza – and lot’s of it. And salad.

Firehouse Subs: great toasted subs. Not healthy. Several locations have gone out of business.

McDonalds: value menu and specials keep it relevant. So many options, it slows down it’s already horrible service. Great commercials, but the experience isn’t as nice. Good call to serve breakfast all day.

Checkers: cheaper than most. Good fries. Relatively fast.

Burger King: decent specials. The chicken sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches can’t compete with Chickfila or even McDonalds, no matter how hard they try. Wish they wouldn’t put mayo on their burgers. Slow service.

Cook Out: others love it. Not me. Like Del Taco, the burrito shells aren’t toasted. Having dozens of milkshake options just means they have that many bottles of flavored syrup to add to their soft serve ice cream.

Krystal: too small for the high price. Mall, expensive breakfast bowls filled with grits, with just a tiny bit of other ingredients on top.

Dairy Queen: expensive treats, same old fast food faire. As expensive as Baskin Robbins but not as good. Super slow service.

Del Taco: why don’t they toast their burrito shells? Cold shells make them so unappetizing. Not to mention the slow service.
