Bowl Predictions Part 1

New Mexico Bowl: Washington State (30) beats Colorado State (88) WRONG 0-1

Las Vegas Bowl: Fresno State (52) loses to USC (20) CORRECT 1-1

Idaho Potato Bowl: Buffalo (67) vs. SD State (94). Have the Bulldogs faced tougher competition than Buffalo? Their strength of schedules are almost equal (127-128). San Diego State will be most affected by the cold. NEVER PICKED 1-1

New Orleans Bowl: Tulane (85…98) beats Louisiana Lafayette (90…133) WRONG 1-2

Beef O’Bradys Bowl: East Carolina (57…107) beats Ohio (116…130) CORRECT 2-2

Hawaii Bowl: Boise State (45) loses to Oregon State (36) CORRECT 3-2

Pizza Bowl: Pittsburgh (60…32) is upset by Bowling Green (27…124). WRONG 3-3

Poinsettia Bowl: Utah State (46…83) beats Northern Illinois (48…113). Either NIU is fired up for missing its BCS chance and plays well, or they come out flat and lose. I say B. CORRECT 4-3

Military Bowl: Marshall (64…126) loses to Maryland (72…69). Should be a good game. Marshall will be motivated, and will at least keep the score close. The Terps use the home field advantage to squeak out the win. WRONG 4-4

Texas Bowl: Syracuse (68) loses to Minnesota (51). Big 10 beats ACC. WRONG 4-5

Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU (29) loses to Washington (12) CORRECT 5-5

Pinstripe Bowl: Rutgers (102) loses to Notre Dame (25). The Irish faithful fill Yankee Stadium. CORRECT 6-5

Belk Bowl: Cincinnati (62…119) loses to North Carolina (47…50). Fancy helmets won’t help the Bearcats. CORRECT 7-5

Russell Athletic Bowl: Miami (39…58) beat Louisville (24…105). Not impressed by the Cardinals. The Canes will be healthier, and will defend Teddy Bridgewater. WRONG 7-6

Buffalo Wild Wing Bowl: Michigan (37…38) beats Kansas State (26…43). Battle of two 7-5 teams. If the Wolverines can overcome their disappointing season-ending loss to Ohio State, they have what it takes to win. But it’s hard to get up for a bowl with this name. WRONG 7-7

Armed Forces Bowl: Navy (59) beats Middle Tennessee (97) CORRECT 8-7

Music City Bowl: Ole Miss (33) beats Georgia Tech (31). SEC over ACC in round one. If Tech plays as well as they did against Georgia then Tech can win. But Godhigh won't get enough touches, and the team will come out flat. An inferior Ole Miss team wins. CORRECT 9-7

Alamo Bowl: Oregon (4) beats Texas (35). A healthy Marcus Mariota turns Mack Brown’s swan song into a sad one. CORRECT 10-7

USA Today Sagarin rating is the first number in parenthesis. Strength of schedule is the second.
